Ingredients

  • Ground beef or lamb - 300 grams
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Harissa - 2 tablespoons
  • Burger buns - 2
  • Lettuce leaves - 2
  • Tomato - 1, sliced
  • Cucumber - 1/2, sliced

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, minced garlic, cumin, coriander, paprika, cinnamon, salt, black pepper, and chopped parsley. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into two equal patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked through.
  4. While the burgers are cooking, prepare the harissa sauce by mixing it with a little olive oil to loosen it up if necessary.
  5. Toast the burger buns lightly in the same skillet for about 1-2 minutes.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom bun, followed by the patty, sliced tomato, and cucumber. Drizzle with harissa sauce before topping with the other half of the bun.
  7. Serve immediately with your choice of sides.
