  • Apples (preferably Granny Smith) - 3 medium, peeled and sliced
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Ground cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
  • Ground ginger - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Ground nutmeg - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Almonds (sliced) - 30 grams
  • Raisins - 50 grams
  • Maple syrup - 2 tablespoons
  • Water - 100 milliliters
  • Fresh mint leaves - for garnish

Steps

  1. Heat the olive oil in a medium-sized tajine or a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced apples to the pan and sauté for about 5 minutes until they start to soften.
  3. Sprinkle the cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg over the apples and stir well to combine.
  4. Add the sliced almonds and raisins, mixing everything together for another 2 minutes.
  5. Pour the maple syrup and water into the pan, cover, and let it simmer for about 15 minutes on low heat until the apples are tender.
  6. Remove from heat and let it sit for 5 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  7. Serve warm, garnished with fresh mint leaves.
