- Ground ginger - 1/2 teaspoon
- Ground nutmeg - 1/4 teaspoon
- Almonds (sliced) - 30 grams
- Raisins - 50 grams
- Maple syrup - 2 tablespoons
- Water - 100 milliliters
- Fresh mint leaves - for garnish
Steps
- Heat the olive oil in a medium-sized tajine or a saucepan over medium heat.
- Add the sliced apples to the pan and sauté for about 5 minutes until they start to soften.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg over the apples and stir well to combine.
- Add the sliced almonds and raisins, mixing everything together for another 2 minutes.
- Pour the maple syrup and water into the pan, cover, and let it simmer for about 15 minutes on low heat until the apples are tender.
- Remove from heat and let it sit for 5 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
- Serve warm, garnished with fresh mint leaves.
