Ingredients
- Phyllo pastry - 4 sheets
- Butter - 50 grams, melted
- Almonds - 100 grams, chopped
- Dates - 100 grams, pitted and chopped
- Honey - 2 tablespoons
- Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
- Powdered sugar - for dusting
- Water - 100 ml
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a bowl, mix the chopped almonds, chopped dates, honey, and cinnamon until well combined.
- Lay one sheet of phyllo pastry on a clean surface and brush with melted butter. Repeat with the next sheet, stacking them on top of each other.
- Place a portion of the almond-date mixture in the center of the pastry sheets.
- Fold the sides of the pastry over the filling and then roll it up tightly to form a log. Brush the top with more melted butter.
- Repeat steps 3 to 5 for the remaining filling and pastry sheets.
- Place the rolled pastries on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar.
- Serve warm, drizzled with a little extra honey if desired.
