Ingredients

  • Pizza dough - 200 grams
  • Sweet potato - 150 grams, peeled and thinly sliced
  • Merguez sausage - 150 grams, casing removed and crumbled
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Feta cheese - 50 grams, crumbled
  • Mozzarella cheese - 100 grams, shredded

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F).
  2. In a bowl, toss the sliced sweet potatoes with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, salt, and pepper, then spread them out on a baking sheet and roast for 15 minutes until tender.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil, then add the minced garlic and crumbled merguez sausage. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the sausage is browned and cooked through.
  4. Remove the sweet potatoes from the oven and set aside. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
  5. Place the rolled out pizza dough on a baking sheet or pizza stone. Spread the cooked merguez sausage evenly over the dough.
  6. Layer the roasted sweet potato slices on top of the sausage, then sprinkle with cumin and paprika.
  7. Top with shredded mozzarella and crumbled feta cheese.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
  9. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with chopped cilantro before slicing and serving.
