- Ground lamb - 400 grams
- Merguez spice blend - 2 teaspoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Burger buns - 2
- Harissa paste - 1 tablespoon
- Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
- Lettuce - 2 leaves
- Tomato - 1, sliced
- Red onion - 1/4, thinly sliced
- Pickles - 4 slices
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground lamb, merguez spice blend, minced garlic, chopped cilantro, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a burger patty, about 1.5 cm thick.
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 5-7 minutes on each side or until they reach an internal temperature of 70°C.
- While the patties are cooking, in a small bowl, mix the harissa paste with mayonnaise until well blended.
- Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
- Spread the harissa mayo on the bottom half of each bun, then add a lettuce leaf, the cooked burger patty, sliced tomato, red onion, and pickles.
- Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
