Ingredients
- Ground beef - 300 grams
- Saffron strands - 0.1 grams (a pinch)
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Coriander - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Egg - 1 large
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon (for cooking)
- Mixed greens (for serving) - 150 grams
- Cherry tomatoes - 100 grams, halved
- Cucumber - 100 grams, sliced
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon (for dressing)
- Feta cheese - 50 grams, crumbled (optional)
Steps
- In a small bowl, soak the saffron strands in 1 tablespoon of warm water for about 10 minutes to release their flavor.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, soaked saffron with water, garlic powder, cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, black pepper, and the egg. Mix well until fully incorporated.
- Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
- While the burgers are cooking, prepare the salad by combining mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, and feta cheese in a bowl. Drizzle with lemon juice and toss gently.
- Once the burgers are done, let them rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
- Serve the saffron-infused burgers alongside the fresh salad.
