Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 300 grams
  • Saffron strands - 0.1 grams (a pinch)
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon (for cooking)
  • Mixed greens (for serving) - 150 grams
  • Cherry tomatoes - 100 grams, halved
  • Cucumber - 100 grams, sliced
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon (for dressing)
  • Feta cheese - 50 grams, crumbled (optional)

Steps

  1. In a small bowl, soak the saffron strands in 1 tablespoon of warm water for about 10 minutes to release their flavor.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, soaked saffron with water, garlic powder, cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, black pepper, and the egg. Mix well until fully incorporated.
  3. Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
  5. While the burgers are cooking, prepare the salad by combining mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, and feta cheese in a bowl. Drizzle with lemon juice and toss gently.
  6. Once the burgers are done, let them rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
  7. Serve the saffron-infused burgers alongside the fresh salad.
