Ingredients
- Chicken breast - 300 grams
- Saffron strands - 0.1 grams
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Whole wheat burger buns - 2
- Lettuce leaves - 2
- Tomato - 1, sliced
- Yogurt - 4 tablespoons, for sauce
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- In a small bowl, soak the saffron strands in 2 tablespoons of warm water for about 10 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, minced garlic, chopped onion, cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, black pepper, olive oil, and the saffron water mixture.
- Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly combined, then form the mixture into two burger patties.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 75°C (165°F).
- While the burgers are cooking, mix the yogurt with lemon juice in a small bowl to create a sauce.
- Toast the whole wheat burger buns in the skillet for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the saffron chicken patty, a slice of tomato, and a generous spoonful of the yogurt sauce. Top with the other half of the bun.
- Serve immediately with your choice of side.
