- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Water - 450 milliliters
Steps
- Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it in water for 20 minutes.
- In a medium pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Add the ground beef to the pot, breaking it apart with a spoon. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Incorporate the diced tomato, carrot, and green bell pepper into the meat mixture. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add cumin, paprika, cinnamon, salt, and black pepper to the pot, mixing well to combine all the flavors.
- Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pot, stirring gently to coat the rice with the spices and meat.
- Pour in the water, bring to a boil, then reduce to low heat. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and has absorbed all the water.
