Ingredients

  • Pizza dough - 200 grams
  • Pumpkin, peeled and cubed - 200 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Fresh sage leaves, chopped - 1 tablespoon
  • Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Ground coriander - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Red onion, thinly sliced - 1 small
  • Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
  • Chickpeas, drained and rinsed - 100 grams
  • Harissa paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh parsley, chopped - for garnish

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F).
  2. In a bowl, toss the cubed pumpkin with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Spread the seasoned pumpkin on a baking sheet and roast for about 20 minutes, or until tender and slightly caramelized.
  4. While the pumpkin is roasting, prepare the pizza dough according to package instructions or your preferred recipe.
  5. In a skillet, heat the remaining tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced red onion and minced garlic, sautéing until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
  6. Add the chickpeas and harissa paste to the skillet, stirring well to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  7. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer to a pizza stone or baking sheet.
  8. Spread the chickpea mixture evenly over the dough, then top with the roasted pumpkin and chopped sage.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and crispy.
  10. Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh parsley, slice, and serve warm.
