Ingredients
- all-purpose flour - 250 grams
- milk - 120 ml
- sugar - 30 grams
- active dry yeast - 7 grams
- salt - 5 grams
- butter - 30 grams, melted
- orange blossom water - 1 tablespoon
- egg - 1, for egg wash
Steps
- In a small bowl, combine the warm milk and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, sugar, and salt. Make a well in the center and add the melted butter, orange blossom water, and the yeast mixture.
- Mix the ingredients together until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into 6 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, leaving space between them.
- Cover the rolls with a cloth and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Beat the egg and brush it over the tops of the rolls.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
