Ingredients

  • Puff pastry - 200 grams
  • Mixed nuts (almonds, walnuts, pistachios) - 100 grams, chopped
  • Honey - 60 grams
  • Cinnamon powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Sugar - 30 grams
  • Butter - 30 grams, melted
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Orange blossom water - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped mixed nuts, honey, cinnamon powder, sugar, orange blossom water, and half of the melted butter. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface until it is about 3 mm thick.
  4. Cut the pastry into rectangles (about 10x15 cm).
  5. Place a spoonful of the nut mixture in the center of each rectangle.
  6. Fold over the pastry to encase the filling, pressing the edges to seal. You can crimp the edges with a fork for a decorative touch.
  7. Brush the tops of the pastries with the remaining melted butter and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
  8. Place the pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastries are golden brown.
  10. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving. Drizzle with additional honey if desired.
