Ingredients
- Puff pastry - 200 grams
- Medjool dates - 150 grams, pitted
- Almonds - 50 grams, chopped
- Walnuts - 50 grams, chopped
- Cinnamon powder - 1 teaspoon
- Honey - 2 tablespoons
- Orange blossom water - 1 tablespoon
- Powdered sugar - for dusting
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F).
- In a bowl, mash the pitted Medjool dates with a fork until smooth.
- Add the chopped almonds, chopped walnuts, cinnamon powder, honey, and orange blossom water to the mashed dates, and mix well until combined.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to about 3mm thick.
- Cut the puff pastry into rectangles, approximately 10cm x 15cm.
- Place a spoonful of the date and nut mixture in the center of each rectangle.
- Fold the pastry over the filling to create a pocket, sealing the edges by pressing them together with a fork.
- Place the pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
