Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 150 grams
  • Butter, melted - 50 grams
  • Honey - 100 grams
  • Water - 100 ml
  • Yeast - 5 grams
  • Sugar - 30 grams
  • Salt - 1 gram
  • Cinnamon powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame seeds - 20 grams
  • Almonds, crushed - 30 grams

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, melted butter, yeast, sugar, salt, and cinnamon. Mix well.
  2. Gradually add the water and knead the dough until it is smooth and elastic. Let it rest for 15 minutes covered with a damp cloth.
  3. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  4. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 5 mm thickness. Cut into small circles using a cookie cutter.
  5. Place a small amount of crushed almonds in the center of each dough circle, fold over and seal the edges to form a half-moon shape.
  6. Place the pastries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. While the pastries are baking, heat the honey in a small saucepan until it becomes liquid.
  9. Once the pastries are done, remove them from the oven and immediately brush them with warm honey.
  10. Let the pastries cool slightly before serving warm, drizzled with extra honey if desired.
