Ingredients
- All-purpose flour - 250 grams
- Semolina - 50 grams
- Warm water - 150 ml
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Butter - 50 grams, melted
- Vegetable oil - 50 ml
- Honey - for serving
- Powdered sugar - for serving (optional)
Steps
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, semolina, and salt. Gradually add the warm water and mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Let it rest for 15 minutes, covered with a damp cloth.
- After resting, divide the dough into 4 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and flatten slightly.
- On a clean surface, generously oil your hands and flatten each ball of dough into a thin circle, about 20 cm in diameter, using your fingers. Make sure the dough is very thin and translucent.
- Brush the surface of each circle with melted butter and fold from the edges to the center to create a square shape. Repeat this for all pieces.
- Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and add a little oil. Place one folded square in the pan and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Repeat with the remaining squares.
- Serve warm, drizzled with honey and a dusting of powdered sugar if desired. Enjoy with mint tea.
