Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 200 grams
  • Semolina - 50 grams
  • Warm water - 150 milliliters
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Butter - 50 grams, melted
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Powdered sugar - 2 tablespoons
  • Whole milk - 200 milliliters
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, semolina, salt, and warm water. Knead the mixture until it forms a smooth dough.
  2. Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces and shape them into balls. Cover with a damp cloth and let rest for 15 minutes.
  3. On a lightly greased surface, flatten each ball into a thin disc and brush with melted butter. Fold each disc into a square, layering them to create flaky texture.
  4. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook each folded msemmen for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  5. In a separate saucepan, heat the whole milk over low heat. Stir in powdered sugar and vanilla extract until dissolved.
  6. Serve the hot msemmen drizzled with the sweetened milk.
