Ingredients
- all-purpose flour - 200 grams
- semolina - 50 grams
- warm water - 150 milliliters
- salt - 1 teaspoon
- olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- honey - 2 tablespoons
- butter - 1 tablespoon
- ground cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
Steps
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, semolina, and salt. Gradually add the warm water while mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a clean surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Cover it with a damp cloth and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and roll each into a ball. Flatten each ball slightly with your hands.
- On a lightly greased surface, stretch each dough piece into a thin rectangle, brushing it lightly with olive oil as you stretch it out.
- Fold the dough in thirds (like a letter) to create layers, then roll it up into a coil. Flatten the coil slightly with your hands.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a little butter. Cook each msemen for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Once cooked, remove msemen from the skillet and keep warm. Drizzle with honey and sprinkle with ground cinnamon before serving.
