Ingredients
- All-purpose flour - 200 grams
- Semolina - 50 grams
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Warm water - 150 ml
- Butter - 50 grams, melted
- Vegetable oil - 30 ml
- Milk - 250 ml
- Sugar - 2 tablespoons
- Ground cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
- Honey - for drizzling (optional)
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, semolina, and salt. Gradually add warm water while mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball and flatten it slightly.
- In a bowl, mix melted butter and vegetable oil. Brush each flattened dough with the mixture and stretch it out into a thin layer.
- Fold the edges of the stretched dough toward the center to create a square shape, then brush again with the oil mixture.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook each msemen for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
- In a saucepan, heat the milk over low heat. Stir in sugar and ground cinnamon until dissolved. Keep warm.
- Serve the msemen hot, drizzled with honey if desired, alongside the sweetened milk for dipping.
