- Semolina - 50 grams
- Warm water - 150 ml
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 3 tablespoons
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
Steps
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, semolina, salt, and sugar.
- Gradually add warm water while mixing with your hands until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball.
- Lightly coat each ball with olive oil and cover with a damp cloth. Let them rest for 15-20 minutes.
- On a lightly oiled surface, take one ball and flatten it out with your fingers into a thin rectangle.
- Fold the sides of the rectangle inward, then roll it up from the bottom to form a cylinder.
- Coil the cylinder into a spiral shape and flatten gently with your palm.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a tablespoon of butter.
- Place the msemen in the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden and crispy.
- Repeat with the remaining dough balls, adding more butter as needed.
