- Lamb shoulder - 300 grams, cut into cubes
- Dried apricots - 50 grams, chopped
- Dried figs - 50 grams, chopped
- Almonds - 30 grams, roughly chopped
- Honey - 2 tablespoons
- Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Water - 250 ml
- Fresh mint - for garnish
Steps
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat and add the lamb cubes, browning them on all sides for about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the chopped dried apricots, dried figs, cinnamon, cumin, salt, and black pepper to the skillet, stirring to combine.
- Pour in the water and bring the mixture to a simmer. Cover the skillet and let it cook on low heat for about 30 minutes until the lamb is tender.
- After 30 minutes, stir in the honey and chopped almonds, allowing it to cook uncovered for an additional 10 minutes to thicken the sauce.
- Once cooked, remove from heat and let it rest for a few minutes. Serve warm, garnished with fresh mint.
