Ingredients

  • Ground turkey - 400 grams
  • Red onion, finely chopped - 50 grams
  • Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
  • Cilantro, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Cinnamon powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Whole wheat burger buns - 2
  • Lettuce leaves - 2
  • Tomato, sliced - 1 medium
  • Yogurt (for serving) - 50 grams

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, chopped red onion, minced garlic, chopped cilantro, cumin, coriander, paprika, cinnamon, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Mix the ingredients together until well combined, then form the mixture into 2 equal-sized patties.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and have a nice golden brown color.
  4. While the burgers are cooking, toast the whole wheat burger buns in a separate pan until lightly golden.
  5. Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the cooked turkey patty, sliced tomato, and a dollop of yogurt.
  6. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately with your favorite side.
