Ingredients
- Whole wheat flour - 200 grams
- Water - 150 ml
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Red bell pepper - 50 grams, diced
- Green bell pepper - 50 grams, diced
- Onion - 50 grams, finely chopped
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Ground beef - 100 grams
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, salt, and water. Knead until a smooth dough forms and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- In a skillet over medium heat, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Sauté the onions and garlic until translucent.
- Add the diced red and green bell peppers, cooking for another 5 minutes until soft.
- Add the ground beef, paprika, cumin, and black pepper. Cook until the beef is browned and fully cooked, about 8-10 minutes. Stir in chopped parsley and remove from heat.
- Divide the rested dough into 2 equal portions. Roll each portion into a thin circle (about 20 cm in diameter).
- Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat. Lightly brush with a little olive oil.
- Place one flatbread on the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes until lightly browned. Flip and add half of the beef and vegetable filling to one side of the flatbread.
- Fold the flatbread over the filling and cook for another 2-3 minutes until golden brown and crispy, then remove from the pan. Repeat with the second flatbread.
- Serve warm, optionally drizzled with more olive oil.
