Ingredients

  • Pizza dough - 250 grams
  • Merguez sausage - 200 grams, casing removed
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Red bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
  • Red onion - 1 small, thinly sliced
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Tomato sauce - 100 grams
  • Mozzarella cheese - 150 grams, shredded
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté the minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the Merguez sausage to the skillet, breaking it up with a spatula, and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Add the sliced red bell pepper and red onion to the skillet, seasoning with cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 5 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
  5. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness and shape. Transfer the rolled-out dough to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the pizza dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  7. Sprinkle half of the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce, then distribute the Merguez sausage and vegetable mixture evenly over the cheese.
  8. Top with the remaining mozzarella cheese and sprinkle with chopped parsley.
  9. Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
  10. Remove from the oven, let cool for a couple of minutes, slice, and serve.
