- Pizza dough - 250 grams
- Merguez sausage - 200 grams, casing removed
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Red bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
- Red onion - 1 small, thinly sliced
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Tomato sauce - 100 grams
- Mozzarella cheese - 150 grams, shredded
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F).
- In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté the minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the Merguez sausage to the skillet, breaking it up with a spatula, and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the sliced red bell pepper and red onion to the skillet, seasoning with cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 5 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
- Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness and shape. Transfer the rolled-out dough to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the pizza dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Sprinkle half of the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce, then distribute the Merguez sausage and vegetable mixture evenly over the cheese.
- Top with the remaining mozzarella cheese and sprinkle with chopped parsley.
- Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
- Remove from the oven, let cool for a couple of minutes, slice, and serve.
