Ingredients

  • Whole milk - 500 ml
  • Plain yogurt - 100 g
  • Salt - 1/2 tsp
  • Honey - 2 tbsp (optional)
  • Fresh mint leaves - for garnish (optional)

Steps

  1. In a saucepan, heat the whole milk over medium heat until it reaches a temperature of about 40°C (104°F). Do not boil.
  2. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the plain yogurt until well combined.
  3. Cover the saucepan with a clean kitchen towel and let it sit at room temperature for 6-12 hours, or until it thickens and develops a tangy flavor.
  4. After the resting period, stir in the salt to taste and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to chill.
  5. Serve the Lben in bowls, drizzled with honey if desired, and garnish with fresh mint leaves.
