Ingredients

  • Ground lamb - 400 grams
  • Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander - 1 teaspoon
  • Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Burger buns - 2, halved
  • Tomato - 1, sliced
  • Lettuce - 2 leaves
  • Harissa sauce - 2 tablespoons (optional)

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground lamb, chopped onion, minced garlic, cilantro, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 2.5 cm thick.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the lamb patties and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 70°C.
  4. While the patties are cooking, toast the burger buns in a separate pan until golden brown.
  5. Assemble the burgers by placing a lamb patty on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a slice of tomato, a lettuce leaf, and a drizzle of harissa sauce, if desired. Top with the other half of the bun.
  6. Serve immediately with your favorite side, such as sweet potato fries or a salad.
