Ingredients
- Ground lamb - 400 grams
- Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Coriander - 1 teaspoon
- Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Burger buns - 2, halved
- Tomato - 1, sliced
- Lettuce - 2 leaves
- Harissa sauce - 2 tablespoons (optional)
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine ground lamb, chopped onion, minced garlic, cilantro, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 2.5 cm thick.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the lamb patties and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 70°C.
- While the patties are cooking, toast the burger buns in a separate pan until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a lamb patty on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a slice of tomato, a lettuce leaf, and a drizzle of harissa sauce, if desired. Top with the other half of the bun.
- Serve immediately with your favorite side, such as sweet potato fries or a salad.
