  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Water - 100 ml
  • Pita bread - 2 pieces
  • Lemon - 1, cut into wedges

Steps

  1. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the ground beef, breaking it up with a spatula, and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Add cilantro, cumin, paprika, cinnamon, salt, and black pepper; mix well.
  6. Pour in the water and reduce the heat to low, allowing the mixture to simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally until the liquid is mostly absorbed.
  7. While the meat is cooking, warm the pita bread in a separate pan or in the oven.
  8. Serve the Lahm Mhamar hot with warm pita bread and lemon wedges on the side.
