Ingredients

  • Thin phyllo pastry - 4 sheets
  • Almonds (finely ground) - 100 grams
  • Honey - 2 tablespoons
  • Orange blossom water - 1 tablespoon
  • Cinnamon powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Unsweetened almond milk - 100 ml
  • Chopped pistachios (for garnish) - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a bowl, mix the finely ground almonds, honey, orange blossom water, and cinnamon powder until well combined to create the filling.
  3. Lay one sheet of phyllo pastry on a clean surface and brush lightly with olive oil. Repeat this process with two more sheets, stacking them on top of each other.
  4. Spread half of the almond filling over the layered pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.
  5. Carefully fold the edges of the pastry over the filling to create a rectangular parcel. Brush the top with olive oil.
  6. Place the parcel on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and repeat the process with the remaining phyllo sheets and almond filling to create a second parcel.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Drizzle with almond milk and garnish with chopped pistachios before serving.
