- Ground chicken or turkey - 200 grams
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Bell pepper - 1, diced
- Tomato sauce - 100 grams
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Chickpeas - 100 grams, cooked
- Feta cheese - 50 grams, crumbled
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Mozzarella cheese - 100 grams, shredded
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and chopped onion, sauté until soft.
- Add ground chicken or turkey to the skillet, cooking until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in diced bell pepper, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes.
- Spread tomato sauce evenly over each piece of khobz.
- Layer the cooked chicken mixture on top of the sauce, followed by the chickpeas, feta cheese, and mozzarella cheese.
- Drizzle with the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven, sprinkle with fresh parsley, slice, and serve warm.
