  • All-purpose flour - 50 grams
  • Warm water - 150 milliliters
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Active dry yeast - 1 teaspoon
  • Honey - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame seeds - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, honey, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour blend. Stir until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes, or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat your oven to 220°C (428°F).
  7. Punch down the risen dough and divide it into two equal pieces. Shape each piece into a round flatbread.
  8. Place the shaped flatbreads on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top and lightly press them into the dough.

  10. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
