Ingredients
- Whole wheat flour - 200 grams
- All-purpose flour - 50 grams
- Warm water - 150 milliliters
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Active dry yeast - 1 teaspoon
- Honey - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Sesame seeds - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- In a bowl, combine warm water, honey, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, and salt. Mix well.
- Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour blend. Stir until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 220°C (428°F).
- Punch down the risen dough and divide it into two equal pieces. Shape each piece into a round flatbread.
- Place the shaped flatbreads on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top and lightly press them into the dough.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the bread is golden and sounds hollow when tapped.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
