- Beef (chuck or brisket) - 300 grams
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Coriander - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Water - 250 milliliters
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Fresh lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Cut the beef into small cubes (about 2 cm) and season with salt, black pepper, cumin, coriander, paprika, and turmeric.
- In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat and add the minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the seasoned beef to the pot and sear until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
- Pour in the water, bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer for 40-45 minutes, or until the beef is tender.
- Once cooked, remove the lid and let the mixture simmer uncovered for an additional 5-10 minutes to reduce the liquid.
- Stir in the chopped parsley and fresh lemon juice just before serving.
- Serve hot with fresh bread for dipping.
