Ingredients
- Ground beef (80% lean) - 300 grams
- Ground lamb - 100 grams
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Egg - 1, beaten
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons (for cooking)
- Lettuce leaves - 4 large (for serving)
- Sliced tomatoes - 1 medium (for serving)
- Sliced cucumber - 1 small (for serving)
- Tahini sauce - 4 tablespoons (for drizzling)
Steps
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground lamb, parsley, cilantro, minced garlic, chopped onion, cumin, paprika, cinnamon, salt, black pepper, and beaten egg. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 1.5 cm thick.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the kefta patties to the skillet, cooking for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 70°C (160°F) and they are browned on the outside.
- While the patties are cooking, prepare the serving plates with lettuce leaves as a base, then layer with sliced tomatoes and cucumbers.
- Once cooked, place the kefta patties on top of the prepared lettuce and veggies, and drizzle each burger with tahini sauce before serving.
