- All-purpose flour - 250 grams
- Warm water - 150 milliliters
- Active dry yeast - 7 grams
- Olive oil - 30 milliliters
- Salt - 5 grams
- Ground beef - 200 grams
- Onion - 50 grams, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Cilantro - 15 grams, chopped
- Parsley - 15 grams, chopped
- Ground cumin - 5 grams
- Ground cinnamon - 2 grams
- Salt - 5 grams
- Black pepper - 2 grams
- Tomato sauce - 100 grams
- Bell pepper - 50 grams, sliced
- Feta cheese - 50 grams, crumbled
Steps
- In a bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center, then add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
- Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 30 minutes.
- In the meantime, prepare the kefta: In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, onion, garlic, cilantro, parsley, cumin, cinnamon, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until combined.
- Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F).
- Once the dough has risen, divide it into two equal pieces and roll each piece into a circle about 25 cm in diameter.
- Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce on each flatbread, then evenly distribute the kefta mixture over the sauce.
- Top with sliced bell peppers and crumbled feta cheese.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the kefta is cooked through.
- Remove from the oven, allow to cool slightly, then slice and serve warm.
