Ingredients
- Ground beef or lamb - 200 grams
- Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Yogurt - 100 grams (for dipping)
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, paprika, cinnamon, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Form the mixture into small balls, about the size of a golf ball (approximately 25 grams each).
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the kefta balls in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan.
- Cook the kefta balls for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are browned on all sides and cooked through.
- While the kefta balls are cooking, mix the yogurt with lemon juice in a small bowl to create a tangy dipping sauce.
- Once cooked, remove the kefta balls from the skillet and serve them hot with the yogurt sauce on the side.
