Ingredients

  • Ground beef or lamb - 200 grams
  • Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Yogurt - 100 grams (for dipping)
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, paprika, cinnamon, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. Form the mixture into small balls, about the size of a golf ball (approximately 25 grams each).
  3. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the kefta balls in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan.
  4. Cook the kefta balls for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are browned on all sides and cooked through.
  5. While the kefta balls are cooking, mix the yogurt with lemon juice in a small bowl to create a tangy dipping sauce.
  6. Once cooked, remove the kefta balls from the skillet and serve them hot with the yogurt sauce on the side.
