- Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Water - 2 tablespoons
- Pita bread - 2 pieces, for serving
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, half of the chopped onion, garlic, parsley, cumin, paprika, cinnamon, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

- In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the remaining chopped onion and sauté until translucent and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.

- Add 2 tablespoons of water to the skillet, cover, and let cook for an additional 2 minutes to keep the patties moist.
- Remove from heat and serve the kefta with the caramelized onions on top, accompanied by pita bread.
