Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 250 grams
  • Ground lamb - 250 grams
  • Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Canned crushed tomatoes - 400 grams
  • Eggs - 4 large
  • Salt - to taste

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground lamb, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, cumin, paprika, cinnamon, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  2. Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 2.5 cm in diameter.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the canned crushed tomatoes and bring to a simmer. Season with salt to taste.
  5. Return the meatballs to the skillet, cover with the tomato sauce, and let simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Create small wells in the sauce and crack an egg into each well. Cover the skillet and cook for another 5-7 minutes, or until the eggs are set to your liking.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
