- Ground beef - 250 grams
- Ground lamb - 250 grams
- Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Canned crushed tomatoes - 400 grams
- Eggs - 4 large
- Salt - to taste
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground lamb, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, cumin, paprika, cinnamon, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
- Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 2.5 cm in diameter.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the canned crushed tomatoes and bring to a simmer. Season with salt to taste.
- Return the meatballs to the skillet, cover with the tomato sauce, and let simmer for 10 minutes.
- Create small wells in the sauce and crack an egg into each well. Cover the skillet and cook for another 5-7 minutes, or until the eggs are set to your liking.
- Serve hot, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
