Ingredients
- Ground lamb - 250 grams
- Ground beef - 250 grams
- Fresh parsley - 30 grams, finely chopped
- Fresh cilantro - 30 grams, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Ground cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Lemon - 1, juiced
- Red onion - 1 small, diced
- Tomato - 1 medium, diced
- Chili flakes - 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine the ground lamb and beef with chopped parsley, cilantro, minced garlic, cumin, cinnamon, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
- Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 3 cm in diameter, and set aside.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally until browned and cooked through.
- In the same skillet, add the diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 3 minutes.
- Add the diced tomato and chili flakes to the skillet, stirring well. Cook for another 5 minutes until the tomatoes soften and form a sauce.
- Return the meatballs to the skillet, drizzle with lemon juice, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.
- Serve warm, garnished with additional chopped herbs if desired.
