Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 200 grams
  • Warm water - 120 ml
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
  • Dried thyme - 1 teaspoon
  • Ground cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Baking powder - 1/2 teaspoon

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, oregano, thyme, and cumin.
  2. Make a well in the center and add the warm water and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
  4. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  5. After resting, divide the dough into 4 equal pieces and flatten each piece into a round shape about 1/4 inch thick.
  6. Sprinkle the chopped parsley and cilantro on top of each round and gently press them into the dough.
  7. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook each flatbread for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Serve warm, ideally with dips or grilled vegetables.
