- All-purpose flour - 200 grams
- Warm water - 120 ml
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
- Dried thyme - 1 teaspoon
- Ground cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Baking powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, oregano, thyme, and cumin.
- Make a well in the center and add the warm water and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
- Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 10 minutes.
- After resting, divide the dough into 4 equal pieces and flatten each piece into a round shape about 1/4 inch thick.
- Sprinkle the chopped parsley and cilantro on top of each round and gently press them into the dough.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook each flatbread for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve warm, ideally with dips or grilled vegetables.
