Ingredients

  • Ground beef (80% lean) - 400 grams
  • Harissa paste - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic cloves - 2, minced
  • Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Burger buns - 2
  • Lettuce leaves - 2
  • Tomato - 1, sliced
  • Red onion - 1/2, thinly sliced
  • Feta cheese - 50 grams, crumbled

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, harissa paste, minced garlic, cumin, coriander, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well incorporated.
  2. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, about 2 cm thick.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare the burger buns by toasting them lightly in the oven or on a separate skillet.
  5. Once the patties are cooked, assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom bun, followed by the patty, tomato slice, red onion, and crumbled feta cheese. Top with the other half of the bun.
  6. Serve immediately with your choice of side.
