Ingredients

  • Tahini - 100 grams
  • Granulated sugar - 50 grams
  • Water - 60 ml
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Ground cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Chopped almonds - 30 grams
  • Chopped pistachios - 30 grams

Steps

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the water and sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar has fully dissolved.
  2. Once the sugar has dissolved, bring the mixture to a gentle boil and let it simmer for 5 minutes without stirring.
  3. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the tahini, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until well combined.
  4. Fold in the chopped almonds and pistachios into the tahini mixture.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased small dish and smooth the top with a spatula.
  6. Let the halva cool at room temperature for about 15 minutes, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours until firm.
  7. Once set, cut into squares or triangles and serve chilled or at room temperature.
