Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 200 grams
  • Warm water - 120 milliliters
  • Instant yeast - 5 grams
  • Salt - 5 grams
  • Olive oil - 15 milliliters
  • Tomato sauce - 100 grams
  • Mozzarella cheese, shredded - 100 grams
  • Bell pepper, diced - 50 grams
  • Black olives, pitted and sliced - 30 grams
  • Fresh parsley, chopped - 10 grams
  • Cumin powder - 1 gram
  • Paprika - 1 gram
  • Vegetable oil (for frying) - 300 milliliters

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, mix the warm water, instant yeast, and olive oil. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add the all-purpose flour and salt to the yeast mixture. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
  4. While the dough is rising, prepare the filling by mixing the tomato sauce, diced bell pepper, sliced olives, chopped parsley, cumin, and paprika in a bowl.
  5. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into two equal portions. Roll each portion into a circle about 1/4 inch thick.
  6. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat until it reaches 180°C (356°F).
  7. Carefully place one rolled-out dough circle into the hot oil. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove the fried dough and drain on paper towels. Repeat with the second portion.
  9. Spread the prepared filling evenly on top of each fried pizza and sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the top.
  10. Return the pizzas to the hot oil for an additional 1-2 minutes to melt the cheese, then carefully remove and drain again.
  11. Serve hot, garnished with extra chopped parsley if desired.
