Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 300 grams
  • Couscous - 50 grams
  • Chicken broth - 120 ml
  • Red onion - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Feta cheese - 50 grams, crumbled
  • Romaine lettuce leaves - for serving
  • Tomato slices - for serving

Steps

  1. In a small saucepan, bring the chicken broth to a boil. Add the couscous, cover, and remove from heat. Let it sit for 5 minutes, then fluff with a fork.
  2. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped red onion and garlic, sautéing until soft, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Stir in the cumin, coriander, and paprika, cooking for an additional minute until fragrant.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, cooked couscous, sautéed onion and garlic mixture, parsley, salt, pepper, and crumbled feta cheese. Mix until well combined.
  5. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, making a slight indentation in the center to hold the filling.
  6. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your desired doneness.
  7. Serve the burgers wrapped in romaine lettuce leaves with tomato slices and any additional toppings you prefer.
