Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 300 grams
  • Fresh cilantro - 30 grams, chopped
  • Lemon juice - 60 ml (from about 2 lemons)
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cayenne pepper - 1/4 teaspoon (optional)
  • Vegetable skewers - 2 (if grilling)

Steps

  1. Press the tofu between paper towels to remove excess moisture for about 15 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the lemon juice, olive oil, minced garlic, ground cumin, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using).
  3. Cut the pressed tofu into 1-inch cubes and add them to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well coated. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes.
  4. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  5. If using skewers, thread the marinated tofu cubes onto the vegetable skewers.
  6. Grill the tofu for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and slightly charred.
  7. Garnish the grilled tofu with chopped cilantro before serving.
