- Lemon juice - 60 ml (from about 2 lemons)
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cayenne pepper - 1/4 teaspoon (optional)
- Vegetable skewers - 2 (if grilling)
Steps
- Press the tofu between paper towels to remove excess moisture for about 15 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the lemon juice, olive oil, minced garlic, ground cumin, paprika, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using).
- Cut the pressed tofu into 1-inch cubes and add them to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well coated. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- If using skewers, thread the marinated tofu cubes onto the vegetable skewers.
- Grill the tofu for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and slightly charred.
- Garnish the grilled tofu with chopped cilantro before serving.
