Ingredients

  • Canned chickpeas - 240 grams (1 can, drained and rinsed)
  • Fresh cilantro - 30 grams (1 cup, chopped)
  • Olive oil - 30 ml (2 tablespoons)
  • Lemon juice - 15 ml (1 tablespoon)
  • Ground cumin - 5 grams (1 teaspoon)
  • Ground coriander - 5 grams (1 teaspoon)
  • Paprika - 5 grams (1 teaspoon)
  • Garlic powder - 2 grams (1/2 teaspoon)
  • Salt - 3 grams (1/2 teaspoon)
  • Black pepper - 1 gram (1/4 teaspoon)
  • Wooden skewers - 4 (soaked in water for 30 minutes)

Steps

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained chickpeas, chopped cilantro, olive oil, lemon juice, cumin, coriander, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Gently mix until the chickpeas are well coated with the marinade. Allow the mixture to sit for 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  3. Preheat the grill or grill pan over medium heat.
  4. Thread the marinated chickpea mixture onto the soaked wooden skewers, packing them tightly but leaving some space between each chickpea.
  5. Place the skewers on the grill and cook for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally until the chickpeas are slightly charred and heated through.
  6. Remove from the grill and serve warm, garnished with additional cilantro if desired.
