Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 300 grams (80% lean)
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Fresh cilantro - 30 grams, chopped
  • Fresh parsley - 30 grams, chopped
  • Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Ground coriander - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Red chili flakes - 1/4 teaspoon (optional)
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Burger buns - 2 units
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Lettuce - 2 leaves
  • Chermoula sauce - 4 tablespoons (store-bought or homemade)

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, minced garlic, chopped cilantro, chopped parsley, ground cumin, paprika, ground coriander, salt, black pepper, and red chili flakes if using. Mix until just combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, slightly larger than the burger buns.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
  4. While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns in a separate skillet or toaster until golden brown.
  5. Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on the bottom half of each bun, adding slices of tomato and lettuce, and drizzling with chermoula sauce. Top with the other half of the bun.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy your Chermoula Beef Burgers!
