Ingredients

  • Pizza dough - 200 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Red bell pepper - 1 medium, diced
  • Green bell pepper - 1 medium, diced
  • Onion - 1 medium, chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Tomatoes - 400 grams, diced (canned or fresh)
  • Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Harissa paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Feta cheese - 100 grams, crumbled
  • Mozzarella cheese - 100 grams, shredded
  • Fresh parsley - for garnish

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 220°C (428°F).
  2. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the diced red and green bell peppers and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for another 5 minutes until the peppers are softened.
  4. Stir in the diced tomatoes, ground cumin, paprika, harissa paste, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 10-12 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly.
  5. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness and place it on a baking sheet or pizza stone.
  6. Spread the chakchouka mixture evenly over the pizza dough.
  7. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and crumbled feta cheese on top of the chakchouka mixture.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley before slicing.
