Ingredients
- Pizza dough - 200 grams
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Red bell pepper - 1 medium, diced
- Green bell pepper - 1 medium, diced
- Onion - 1 medium, chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Tomatoes - 400 grams, diced (canned or fresh)
- Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Harissa paste - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Feta cheese - 100 grams, crumbled
- Mozzarella cheese - 100 grams, shredded
- Fresh parsley - for garnish
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 220°C (428°F).
- In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the diced red and green bell peppers and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for another 5 minutes until the peppers are softened.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, ground cumin, paprika, harissa paste, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 10-12 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly.
- Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness and place it on a baking sheet or pizza stone.
- Spread the chakchouka mixture evenly over the pizza dough.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and crumbled feta cheese on top of the chakchouka mixture.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley before slicing.
