Ingredients

  • Whole wheat flour - 200 grams
  • Warm water - 120 milliliters
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Carrots - 150 grams, grated
  • Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Ground coriander - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, mix the whole wheat flour, salt, and ground cumin together.
  2. Gradually add warm water and olive oil to the flour mixture, stirring until a dough begins to form.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine the grated carrots, minced garlic, ground coriander, black pepper, and chopped cilantro.
  6. Divide the rested dough into two equal portions and roll each portion into a circle about 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Place one rolled-out flatbread in the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Repeat the cooking process for the second flatbread.
