Briouates au Miel
Briouates au Miel are delightful Moroccan pastries filled with a mixture of nuts and spices, then baked to golden perfection and drizzled with honey. This healthy version uses whole ingredients, making it a deliciously sweet end to any meal.

Ingredients
- Filo pastry - 6 sheets
- Almonds, finely chopped - 50 grams
- Walnuts, finely chopped - 50 grams
- Honey - 60 ml
- Cinnamon powder - 1 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Water - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame seeds - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a bowl, mix the finely chopped almonds, walnuts, cinnamon, and half of the honey.
- Lay out one sheet of filo pastry and brush it lightly with olive oil.
- Place another sheet on top and brush with olive oil again.
- Cut the layered pastry into 3 equal strips.
- Place a tablespoon of the nut mixture at one end of each strip.
- Fold the pastry over the filling to form a triangle, then continue folding to the end of the strip, sealing the filling inside.
- Repeat with the remaining strips and filling.
- Place the briouates on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- Brush the tops with olive oil and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
- While baking, heat the remaining honey with 2 tablespoons of water in a small saucepan until smooth.
- Once the briouates are done, remove them from the oven and immediately drizzle with the honey mixture.
