Ingredients
- Shrimp - 200 grams, peeled and deveined
- Phyllo dough - 6 sheets
- Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons, for cooking
- Butter - 30 grams, melted, for brushing
Steps
- In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until translucent.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet, along with paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Cook until the shrimp turn pink, about 3-4 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in the chopped cilantro and lemon juice. Let the filling cool slightly.
- Lay one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean surface and brush lightly with melted butter. Place another sheet on top and brush again with butter.
- Cut the layered phyllo dough into strips approximately 10 cm wide.
- Place a tablespoon of the shrimp filling at one end of a strip. Fold the corner of the strip over the filling to form a triangle, then continue folding in a triangle shape until you reach the end of the strip. Seal the edges with a little melted butter.
- Repeat the process with the remaining phyllo sheets and filling.
- In a large skillet, heat the remaining olive oil over medium heat. Fry the briouates in batches until golden and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels. Serve hot.
