Ingredients
- Almonds - 150 grams
- Sugar - 75 grams
- Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
- Orange blossom water - 2 tablespoons
- Butter - 30 grams, melted
- Warka or spring roll pastry - 8 sheets
- Oil - for frying
- Honey - for drizzling
Steps
- In a food processor, blend the almonds until finely ground, then add the sugar, cinnamon, and orange blossom water. Mix until well combined.
- Take one sheet of warka or spring roll pastry and cut it into strips about 10 cm wide.
- Place a tablespoon of the almond mixture at one end of the strip and fold the edges over to create a triangle. Continue folding in a triangular shape until you reach the end of the strip. Seal the end with a bit of melted butter.
- Repeat the process with the remaining pastry sheets and almond filling.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Fry the briouates in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
- Remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels. Drizzle with honey before serving.
