Ingredients
- Phyllo dough - 4 sheets
- Dried prunes - 150 grams, pitted
- Honey - 2 tablespoons
- Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
- Ground almonds - 50 grams
- Butter - 50 grams, melted
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
- Water - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a bowl, combine the pitted prunes, honey, cinnamon, and ground almonds. Mix well until the prunes are coated and the mixture is sticky.
- Lay one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean surface and brush it lightly with melted butter. Place another sheet on top and brush with more butter.
- Cut the layered phyllo dough into long strips, about 5 cm wide.
- Place a spoonful of the prune mixture at one end of the strip and fold the dough over to form a triangle. Continue folding the triangle over itself along the strip until you reach the end. Seal the edges with a little melted butter.
- Repeat the process with the remaining phyllo dough and filling.
- Place the briouats on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
