Ingredients
- Warka pastry sheets - 4 sheets
- Mixed dried fruits (apricots, figs, raisins) - 100 grams, chopped
- Almonds - 50 grams, finely chopped
- Honey - 2 tablespoons
- Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
- Orange blossom water - 1 tablespoon
- Powdered sugar - for dusting
- Vegetable oil - for frying
Steps
- In a bowl, combine the chopped dried fruits, finely chopped almonds, honey, cinnamon, and orange blossom water. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly coated.
- Take a warka pastry sheet and cut it in half. Place a spoonful of the fruit mixture at one end of the sheet.
- Fold the sides of the pastry over the filling, then roll it up tightly to form a small cylinder. Repeat with the remaining sheets and filling.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the briouats in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy on all sides.
- Remove the briouats from the oil and drain on paper towels. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
